The Reclaiming Your Health Starter Kit!
Over the past few years there has been so much diverse and conflicting advice around ‘health’ and the best choices we need to make to optimise our wellbeing. It can be so confusing and overwhelming to not know what advice to follow and what advice to ignore.
Our modern lifestyles of extreme busyness, stress, poor diets and living out of alignment with nature are playing a huge part in the rapid growth of mental health disorders, sub-optimal well-being and chronic disease. Often you may not even realise that you’re on the path to a chronic condition, because you have become so accustomed to ignoring the little signals that your body is giving you and carrying on regardless.
Remember that these symptoms are messages that your body is trying to communicate with you, and if you don’t listen to your body when it whispers, you may have to listen to it scream!
As a starting point for building optimal well-being, it’s so important to be striving for the basic pillars of health, such as nutritious food, adequate hydration, quality sleep, sunshine, nature, connection to others, physical movement, and spiritual wellbeing - but beyond all of that, there may be elements of your lifestyle that are promoting toxicity and damage to your health, and it’s so important to reduce or eliminate those things from your life too.
If the time has come to reduce your fatigue, immune illnesses, hormone imbalances, metabolic dysfunction, mood concerns, cognitive issues and reproductive struggles amongst others, then this list may just serve as a starting point for reclaiming optimal health.
I encourage you to research each point using credible sources…sometimes you have to dig a little deeper than the top results of an internet search.
Enjoy delving deep into this list, here we go:
Get a good quality water filter that will remove chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals and other nasties.
Start using a non-fluoride toothpaste.
Stop using highly processed seed oils such as canola, corn, cottonseed, soybean, sunflower, safflower, grapeseed, and rice bran.
Stop using Teflon and non-stick cookware.
Don’t drink out of plastic water bottles.
Avoid standard cosmetics - opt for low-tox and organic instead.
Avoid touching paper till receipts, which can contain endocrine disrupting Bisphenol-A (BPA).
Don’t use plastic chopping boards.
Stop eating ultra-processed ‘foods.’
Choose Organic - Glyphosate and Atrazine pesticides in your food and water are harming your health.
Ditch the vape!
Choose an aluminium free deodorant (or better yet, wear none).
Choose low-tox personal products - body wash, shampoo, creams and lotions.
Stop wearing synthetic fragrance.
Choose a low-tox laundry powder or make your own.
Avoid synthetic fabrics - fabrics have a frequency & linen has the highest frequency.
Stop using chemical laden sanitary products.
Choose organic or cloth nappies for baby.
Stop using synthetic air fresheners, candles and imitation perfume oils.
Ditch the mainstream sunscreen - if you’re using sunscreen opt for a low-tox option.
There are so many more ways that you can start to reclaim your health - but working through this list is a great starting point.
If you’d like to talk further about living a vital and healthy life, then I’d love to work with you!
